Flexibility Positives, Negatives, & Application

Positives

Having flexibility will give up enough ROM to load and "Rebound" -> absorb and then redirect that force out of said position and specific joint angle in and elastic manner (Quick review of the SSC -> (Stretch Shortening Cycle))

Giving us the ability to absorb force and distribute it through the entire chain if needed

Negatives

Too much flexibility will eventually create a form of "Joint Laxity" which will eventually interrupt your length tension relationship and be detrimental to neuromuscular coordination

if doing something for sport you’d only want to go into the strong/corresponding angle with that "joint security" to allow us to rebound out in a plyometric manner

Application

looking at sport you don't want to necessarily want to control the weight all the way down, allowing us to yield into it and allow the ability to enter the SSC/Relax & Contractive State
